Feeling bittersweet right now writing this blog post. We’ve finally reached the end of our summer semester! I genuinely enjoyed this class even though it was short. For me, I was excited for this class because it involved two things that are quite relevant in my life, social media and telling stories. I was excited to learn new storytelling aspects and see how I can incorporate it. I also enjoyed reading other people’s stories and learning a little more about the people in our class. Reading everyone’s blog post, I was able to kind of see the type of people that made up our class. I think storytelling is a very fun way to get to learn about someone. Compared to the basics, my name, my major and maybe an interesting fact, having us tell stories on our blogs is much more fun and for me to write.
I definitely learned a few things from this class. One main thing I learned was incorporating storytelling in general. When looking at pictures and videos, this class in a way made me realize more of the true meaning of content and how there are stories that can be told by a simple picture or video. Makes looking at certain things more interesting. One of the newer things I did learn was creating a podcast. This for me was probably the most difficult assignment from this course. I created my podcast on the anchor app and I think figuring out how to use the app, even after watching Dr. Adams tutorial, it was difficult but after a couple of hours I got it down.
For my podcast, I told the story about my personal experience going through recruitment and choosing to run home to Alpha Gamma Delta. I had a unique experience from being a transfer and going into informal recruitment and I wanted to share that memorable experience for the first episode of my podcast. I am very proud of all the work that I’ve done in this class and proud of all of us for finally reaching this point! Good luck to everyone on their future endeavors!
